I live in Kenya and work across East Africa. When in the UK I typically gravitate to landscape photography in my spare time, but in Kenya and the surrounding countries I particularly enjoy making portraits of people in their environment.
The streets of East Africa afford me many opportunities to meet and connect with people and to collaborate with them in making their portrait.
If you are interested in the official work I am involved, you can find some examples on the SIM Stories website.
Kariobangi, Nairobi, Kenya: Mama Kenneth is a cook at a primary school, catering for a lot of little mouths, in the Kariobangi slum of Nairobi.
Northern Kenya desert: A young boy holds his stick in a small settlement near the Kenya/ Ethiopia border
Kariobangi, Nairobi, Kenya: Worker in the meat market
Soweto, Nairobi, Kenya: A young boy strikes a pose in Soweto. Not to be confused with the Soweto in South Africa, this small slum is in Nairobi.
It is a privilege being part of a couple's special day and making the best images I can to express the wedding story and the people that are part of the day.
I'm a friendly and relaxed individual and like to think that comes across in the images I create.
If you would like to enquire about me being your wedding photographer, I'd be more than happy to hear from you by email.

Did I already say that I am an outgoing and relaxed kind of guy? I try my best to put people at ease and to have fun when making portraits. Again, I trust this comes across in the pictures you see in this gallery.
Although I am kitted out with a portable studio (lights and backdrops), my preference is to make pictures of people in their environment - on location portraits.
Typically once on location a photo session will last for up to 2 hours, I then go through all the pictures, select and edit the best ones and put onto memory stick for you.
If you are considering have your family or individual portrait made, then I'd love to hear from you to see how we can collaborate (your input is vital in making the most effective portraits).
